Template:Email My.uri.edu accounts are student email accounts. These Google Mail Accounts are replacing student mail.uri.edu accounts. The new email account is the student's eCampusUserName@my.uri.edu. Students can log into these accounts by clicking here. As of May 23, 2010 all email going to student @mail.uri.edu accounts was automatically forwarded to the student's my.uri.edu account.


Basic Information

UserID: Same as eCampus account (e.g., jdoe)
Password: The password is the same as your Sakai/Wireless account password. (The default email password is your birthday in the form MMDDYYYY)
Account: eCampusUsername@my.uri.edu (eg., jdoe@my.uri.edu)

Forwarding Email

To forward your @my.uri.edu account:
1. Log into the account here.
2. Click Settings in the upper right corner.
3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
4. Choose Forward a copy of incoming mail to: and add in another email account.
5. Click Save Changes.

Change Password

If you already know your @my.uri.edu account password you can change it by:

  1. Log into your @my.uri.edu account.
  2. Click on your email address in the upper right hand corner.
  3. Click on Account.
  4. In the new tab that opens, click Security on the left.
  5. From there you can click the Change password button.
  6. On the light-blue page, enter your username, current password and new password twice.
  7. Click "Submit" and the text near the to should say "Password changes successful".

If you do not know your password please come to the URI Computer Help Desk with a photo ID so a full time staff member can change your password. If you cannot get to the Help Desk please call us at (401)874-HELP.

Using Email Clients

In order to use an email client you must first enable POP or IMAP. To do this:
1. Log into the account here.
2. Click Settings in the upper right corner.
3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
4. Choose Enable POP for all mail or Enable IMAP for all mail depending on if you want to use POP or IMAP .
5. Click Save Changes.

NOTE: If asked for a Username, enter the full email address: username@my.uri.edu.

Important Dates

September 1, 2011: Automatic forwarding of incoming email sent to mail.uri.edu has been discontinued September 1, 2011. All email must be sent to your @my.uri.edu address in order for you to receive it.
